SUMMARY:Implementing the Inland Equity Grid (IEG) Into Your Work
DESCRIPTION:Building Resilient Communities and the Public Health Alliance of Southern California are proud to announce a series of training sessions on the newly launched Inland Equity Grid (IEG). The IEG is a community-centered network designed to strengthen community resilience and advance equity by connecting partners across sectors\, sharing resources\, and leveraging data. Through cross-sector collaboration\, the IEG supports informed decision-making\, coordinated action\, and solutions that address systemic challenges impacting vulnerable communities. In this workshop\, we will walk you through a sequence of real-world uses of the Inland Equity Grid\, demonstrating how you can use it to expand your organization’s capacity\, develop grant applications\, and equitably distribute your organization’s services. \nIn the second half of the workshop\, we will break out into small groups and brainstorm how your organization can use the IEG to streamline or improve its current work. We ask that you come prepared with an example of something you are working on\, such as a request for proposal (RFP)\, where using the IEG might be beneficial. We will share these use cases with the larger group so others can learn how the IEG is being used across organizations. \nREGISTER HERE >>>

SUMMARY:Banished Citizens: Community Stories & Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Join CRIISC and Cellar Door Books for a meaningful community conversation inspired by Banished Citizens: A History of the Mexican American Women Who Endured Repatriation by Marla A. Ramirez. This powerful discussion will explore the history and lasting impacts of the Mexican Repatriations of the 1930s\, a period during which people of Mexican descent were forcibly removed from the United States. \n\nCommunity members are invited to learn about this often-overlooked chapter in history\, reflect on its legacy\, and share personal or family stories related to displacement\, deportation\, land loss\, exclusion\, or community erasure. Together\, we will honor the experiences of those affected\, foster understanding\, and create space for healing through storytelling and dialogue. \nWhether you carry these stories personally or wish to deepen your understanding of this history\, all are welcome to participate in this important conversation with author Marla A. Ramirez. \n  \n\nRegister here >>>
