About the Cabinet

A Regional Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families

The IE Children’s Cabinet is a cross-sector coalition dedicated to improving outcomes for children, youth, and families throughout the Inland Empire. We bring together diverse partners to identify challenges, elevate community voices, and develop solutions that strengthen families and expand opportunities for future generations.

Our work is grounded in the belief that lasting change happens when policy, systems, and community leadership work together. Through collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and community engagement, we advance strategies that foster health and racial equity, educational success, economic stability, and overall well-being.

ORGANIZED TO MOBILIZE

Turning Community Priorities Into Meaningful Action

The Children’s Cabinet serves as a regional table where stakeholders work together to address pressing issues facing children and families. We facilitate collaborative planning, inform policy discussions, support community-driven initiatives, and help align resources across sectors.

Basic Needs

Many children in the Inland Empire are in need of many essential goods and services including stable housing and dedicated safe spaces. We want to work with nonprofit, public, and private organizations to further support the development of structures that give children and foster families resources that go beyond basic needs.

Basic Needs Leadership

The Basic Needs Committee is led by committed community leaders working to ensure that every child and family has access to the essential resources they need to thrive, including housing, food, economic stability, and supportive services.

Child Care

It is critical to the socioeconomic health of the region to provide around the clock child care services to working families. Our current child care system does not come close to meeting the needs of working families. It is essential that we act quickly and boldly to address the need of child care for the region and across the state.

Child Care Leadership

The Child Care Committee is guided by leaders dedicated to expanding access to affordable, high-quality child care and strengthening the systems that support children, families, and early childhood professionals.

Youth Education

Providing families with a quality education is essential for securing a bright future for children in the Inland Empire. It begins with making sure our systems of education are addressing the needs of every child. We welcome collaboration from across the network of bi-county Inland Empire partners working to streamline pathways from high school to postsecondary education and into the workforce.

Child & Youth Education Leadership

The Child & Youth Education Committee is led by passionate education advocates focused on creating equitable learning opportunities and supporting the academic success and well-being of children and youth across the Inland Empire.

Health & Wellness

Quality and accessible healthcare is critical to the wellbeing of growing children at every stage. Expanding on mental health services, services for children with disabilities, and guaranteeing access to all forms of healthcare to children are only a few key components required to address poverty and inequity. Our future relies on creating more equitable access to care for all children.

Health & Wellness Leadership

The Health & Wellness Committee is led by champions dedicated to improving the physical, behavioral, and emotional well-being of children and families while advancing trauma-informed practices and preventing and mitigating the impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
