Champions for Youth

The Youth for Change Alliance is a dynamic youth-led committee supported by Inland Empire Community Collaborative (IECC) and All Children Thrive (ACT) staff. Part of the IE Children’s Cabinet Community Table, this committee aims to support parents, youth, and community leaders in advocating for children and youth in the IE.

Transforming Childhood Trauma Response

Transforming Cannabis Tax Policies to Fund Adelanto Youth Programs

ACT will train members of this newly formed Youth for Change Alliance Committee in transforming how cities address childhood trauma and focus on improving child and family wellbeing. ACT brings together community members with city staff and elected officials to create policies, programs and resources to address underlying conditions that lead to childhood trauma and advance opportunities that foster child wellbeing.

This project is focused on addressing cannabis tax policies in the City of Adelanto with the goal of proposing policy changes that will secure and enhance funding for after-school youth programming and child care through a city ballot initiative. This project represents a unique opportunity for young leaders and local community members to have a direct impact on their city’s policy making process by shaping policies that matter to them and their peers.

Join the Design Team and Make Your Voice Heard

IECC will select a total of 15 youth and parents who are residents of the City of Adelanto and surrounding communities to be a part of the Design Team. Each participant selected to be a part of the design team will receive a stipend of up to $720 for attending workshops.
