Free Uber Rides Provided by El Sol
El Sol is offering FREE rides to vaccination sites around the Inland Empire. This is an effort to increase access to COVID-19 vaccines in rural, underserved communities that face a transportation barrier.
To request a ride, community members will need to call El Sol’s COVID-19 helpline at 800-901-5541. The helpline also has the most up-to-date vaccination site locations, meaning that community members will be connected to the closest vaccination site available to them, if needed.

Cost of Vaccine – It’s Free –
You Have the Right to a COVID-19 Vaccine With NO Out-of-Pocket Cost.
- Health plans regulated by the DMHC must cover COVID-19 vaccines and the administration costs without any enrollee cost-sharing. Cost-sharing includes co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles or other out-of-pocket costs.
What Should You Do if You Are Charged for a COVID-19 Vaccine?
- If a health plan enrollee receives a bill related to the coverage or administration of a qualifying COVID-19 vaccine, they should first file a grievance with their health plan and include a copy of the bill. Their health plan will review the grievance and should ensure the enrollee is reimbursed. If the enrollee does not agree with their health plan’s response or if the plan takes more than 30 days to fix the problem, they should file a complaint with the DMHC Help Center at www.HealthHelp.ca.gov or 1-888-466-2219.
Immigration Status
How does immigration status effect vaccine eligibility ?
- You can get the vaccine for free no matter what your immigration or citizenship status is. Vaccinations do not count under the public charge rule. You should not be asked about your immigration or citizenship status when you get a COVID-19 vaccine. The federal government has confirmed they will not do immigration operations at or near vaccination sites and clinics.
