A Tapestry of Black Artisans 2024
October 19 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The Black Arts Museum (The BAM) mission began in 2020, to showcase and nurture African American artists of all creative disciplines in the Inland Empire. To be the first institution of its kind in the region, The BAM aspires to construct a globally acclaimed museum that encapsulates the aesthetics, ethnicity and spirit of a people. The BAM will be a place where every artist’s voice and vision will be esteemed: cultivating, collecting, supporting, and showcasing artistic contributions – past, present, and future. Healing through the arts in the Black community and the community at large is needed now more than ever.
We are excited to showcase just a sampling of the variety of talent in the Inland Empire including:
- Romaine Washington, notable author/poet, and member of Inlandia and Blacklandia,
- Spade Semaj, a gifted recording artist and musician from Music Changing Lives School-MoValley,
- Viveca Mays, an exceptionally talented and established visual artist and arts educator, and
- Christopher and Clarity Bates, talented brother and sister violinists at Crescendo Conservatory.
