Join CRIISC and Cellar Door Books for a meaningful community conversation inspired by Banished Citizens: A History of the Mexican American Women Who Endured Repatriation by Marla A. Ramirez. This powerful discussion will explore the history and lasting impacts of the Mexican Repatriations of the 1930s, a period during which people of Mexican descent were forcibly removed from the United States.
Community members are invited to learn about this often-overlooked chapter in history, reflect on its legacy, and share personal or family stories related to displacement, deportation, land loss, exclusion, or community erasure.
